I like our summers. The only thing I would change really is the sunshine hours. I'd like 230-260 in the summer months.

This month has only been bad temp-wise really.. it's significantly sunnier than August 2010 which was stupidly dull.

Not as many as you think

But really I don't care if most people hate my climate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can express it freely.

I don't see why you got your underwear all in a knot because I asked this simple question?

Which apparently B87 was over exaggerating.

But hey, you have your opinion and I have mine. Continental climates suck to you. Worst places ever. I have no problem with you saying that!

Obviously oceanic climates don't suit you either since you moved 2100km south to Malta

I think we you can also look at it the other way around (as Joe above said):

When you consider what the climate of other locations are like at similar latitudes as the UK (52 to 58 north I think), that they are barren severe winter boreal climates with many months of snow and ice (eastern Canada at the same latitude), or much of Russia (at the same latitude) which is a pretty tough climate to live in....the UK is not so bad.

I also think when talking about UK summers, it seems more strange to people who live in lower latitudes (like I do), where summers are typically long and hot , that summers in the UK are so fleeting and cool. Someone from Canada, Russia, Denmark, Finland...etc might not think they Uk summers are so cool at all.

I believe he moved to Malta because his husband/fiance/whatever wanted to move there. I've seen him complain a few times about how Malta is too hot sometimes.

I don't think the UK will have a heatwave in September. Maybe slightly above average, but that's it.

I meant all those that agree with me that your posts come across as baiting & you purposely antagonise other users for a reaction (AKA trolling) I couldn't care less what people think of your climate, you are the one obsessed with that...

And I didn't move to Malta because I wanted to live in a warmer climate, I was quite happy living in the UK & love oceanic climates thanks

Show me how I was antagonistic in my question to B87? It sounds as if you are mad that I just questioned the assertion he made? How come? Are you mad that I simply asked the question? Or are you more upset that his assertion turned out to be false?

But you seem to care when I express my opinions of oceanic climates. You always get so defensive. It's not like I insulted the Queen of England man....

You sure that wasn't part of your decision? I recall you saying that part of the reason you were moving was that it didn't snow or get frost in Malta

I think those who live in the high latitude cool oceanic climates like the UK weather is often a sore subject. I think the tough part of life in these high latitude climates is only the climate, but the high latitude and low sun in the sky for much of year. 90 % of everyone I ever met from the UK was nice and often a cool person to hang out with.

Looks like the "heatwave" has been watered down to a few days of slightly above average temperatures, nothing to see.
