For me it's this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Ar...chigan#Climate
In Europe, the best is probably: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi%C8...C4%83u#Climate
Honorary mention to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariupol#Climate
(Mariupol has had some freak events. 20C in January, -1C in August, but 0C in May the record low.)

You get the drill. Cold, but not frigid winters with moderate snowfall, warm, but not overly hot summers. And loooooooooong springs and autumns.

I guess Tennessee would be my favorite place overall, but I like the summers of the south Atlantic and Gulf coasts.

This is the closest I've found to a perfect climate.

Great climate overall but ruined by three things for me: 1) record low of 10 F ruins the chance of more tropical vegetation and requires "bundling up" which you shouldn't have to do in a warm subtropical climate 2) Winters are much drier than summers. I like precipitation evenly spread throughout the year. 3) Warm rain and thunderstorms are great but would like nights to cool off to about 66 F in summer so AC isn't overused.

No, I haven't. Hence, you have a good point that I can't be 100% sure that Oymyakon is my dream place. However, I'm ~99.9% sure that I would thoroughly enjoy it as long I'd have appropriate protection. In my experience, there has never been an instance where it has been so cold that I no longer enjoy it. Even when I (briefly) walked around outside in single-digit temps with only short sleeves and shorts (earlier this year), I still enjoyed it and compulsively thought about places which are much colder. For me, extreme cold is an "addiction," if you will - it is embedded within my psyche as a positive thing (perhaps similar to your perception of subtropical weather and thunderstorms)

I like cold and snow, but Oymyakon is far too brutal for me. Even Winnipeg is too cold for me in winter, though I think I still can tolerate its winters (Winnipeg's, not Oymyakon's).
