Not sure what an ice day is. I do know that I will be putting some ice in a glass after work and sitting out in the yard watching the grass grow at the end of the day while I enjoy the afternoon day sun drinking my ice cold beverage. If that is what an ice day is then I will have one almost every day of the year.

I'm surprised that most American users have never heard of an ice day before.. I would have thought it was relatively self explanatory?

We don't use the word phrase ice day in general speech here, infact the first time I heard of that phrase was back in december 2012 on here by owenc.

It's not. The OP should have defined it. How is it self-explanatory? Sounds like there's ice sometime in the day, but the definition isn't obvious. I heard of it from this forum, or a similar internet site.

Yeah first I'd heard of it was on here. I don't think I've ever heard it on TV weather forecasts, unless I just don't remember of course.

Out here in California most of us have forgotten what a rain day is and where I live snow is something you drive a couple hours to visit.

Average is 8 a year here but I have a good feeling there will be more this year. The eurasian continent is cooling down quickly. Some decent easterly winds will do the rest.
