Kansas City is actually worse than areas of the South for heat and humidity.

Minneapolis, might as well go for the full monty. It also gets a lot of sunshine and the summers are generally more comfortable in comparison to the other choices. It's not actually a bad climate at all, a little cold but it's hardly dreary and never too hot following the cold months.

This is a tough one.

Minneapolis has solid winters, but the high sunshine hours are a downside. Columbus is good for the lower sun and still is pleasant outside of summer. Leaning towards Minneapolis despite the sun. Chicago would be a good compromise.

Columbus' temperatures, Kansas City's sunshine.
