It's not a fluke. It's a load of bullcrap larger than Los Angeles itself.

If it was true, it means that Los Angeles was experiencing record cold weather for July (by a shot) through 10am, at which time a major cold front moved through and brought LA down to an all time July record low for a populated area of the US. All the weather the clouds and barometric pressure were minimally changing. Then, around 2pm, the mother of all Santa Ana winds blew in and somehow, miraculously, brought LA back to near normal conditions, at the same time the station's hygrometer started working.

So, in summation, unseasonable cold, unreasonable cold, and a massive cold front and warm front 4 hours apart.

Good find, by the way.

Obviously an issue with the ASOS or AWOS..... this should be corrected by the NCDC in the final publication from them for this site. Cannot always go off raw data.

If it got this cold in California, and on a national holiday to boot, it would be on the news, right?

Err... Mistakes!
July Mins:
Actual temp -23 °C?
Average 17 °C (believable)
Highest record 11 °C (1900)

Question, how could the av temp be 17C if the record high night temp is 11C... and the -23... Well some Russian cities don't have that as their all-time record low! What a load of ****! LOL
