This is not a currently inhabited place right now, but what letter grade would you give the climate, and would you live there if it was a big city?

F- with no redeeming qualities what so ever.
There is a reason why they don't build "big cities" on tundras.

Prospect Creek isn't on tundra. It's a boreal biome.

Anyway, Yakutsk is a big city with far colder winters.

I give this city an A for climate, btw. Would be an A+ if it got more precipitation and thunderstorms in summer.

A.

Great temps; also great snowfall and precip totals. Could stand to be colder in winter in order to get the A+.

I sure as hell would love to live there if there was a city there. It's similar to Chicken or Northway or Fort Yukon, some of my favorite Alaskan climates.

E-

Too cold, save for the "summers". July is good though. Springlike and pleasant.

I still prefer my Prospect though (Sydney suburb).

52% / F+. It's just too cold year round, especially at night.

Snow depth stats here: PROSPECT CREEK, ALASKA - Climate Summary

Looking on the data there:
In January 1971, the month it recorded the US record of -79.8F/-62.1C. The high that day was -64F/-53.3C and there was a snow depth of 56"/142cm...the month average was -43.4F (-41.9C).

January 1977 averaged +8.7F/-12.9C, more than 50 degrees warmer! They might have seen a warmer month in recent years, but I only found data from 1970-1980. '

I give it a D+. Summers are too short but comfortable. I like that it's still snowy unlike some other places with winters that cold. But the winters are too cold.

Just to point out, with the exception of precipitation and heavy snow, this climate, temperature-wise, is close to that of your dream climate.
