I wonder if the new location of hudson bay would allow places on the gulf coast like Mobile and New Orleans to be truly frost free and consequently commercial citrus cultivation on a large scale like South Florida instead of just being limited to people's gardens.

Louisiana and Alabama do have commercial citrus now. I just received my 20 pounds of oranges from Alabama. I visited that farm last April. Oranges are delicious.

The only place where citrus cultivation occurs in Louisiana is on the slim sliver of land on either side of the Mississippi River protected by levees south of Belle Chase.

Look at Buras, LA and you'll see citrus plantations.

I don't know about Alabama but I suspect cultivation is possible on the barrier islands, with fertilization because the soil is quartz so not very productive.

That already exists - see China. Polar highs reach places like Hong Kong occasionally. However, it would modify the Antarctic continent by making it warmer because now it would be subject to warm air intrusions from up north - now it is starved of those systems by the sea.

Nope not on the barrier islands. I visited a citrus farm in Grand Bay, AL and there was more than one of them.

As far as Louisiana, mostly confined to the coastal Gulf of Mexico parishes.
