In terms of climate alone; Las Vegas but I went in December. Minneapolis but I went in June, April and May. It did snow in May, though. I will be moving to Saint Paul so I should experience a true northern winter, soon.

Hottest temp I've ever experienced was in Fort Worth, Texas; 107 degrees

Coldest was in Denton, Texas; 12 degrees

I pick the cold, any day. My cousin was just in Vegas and it was 115 degrees with lows in the high 80s. I could never.

Death Valley which has the record at what 129*F?
I was in a F-100 at 100 feet at the time.
Alta UT in a snowstorm with powder flying at -20*F or so.
Happy to be both places, at the time.

Hottest has to be Vegas, although it did get to 119 at my house in LA one day a few years back.

Coldest was in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It was -13.

As far as mean annual temperature, the warmest I have been to is Key West, FL (77.8) and the coldest is Duluth, MN (39.6). As far as the temperatures when I was there, the coldest would be January 2016 in Chicago (-1 or -2). The warmest would probably be August 2001 in Long Island, NY at 100, but I was less than a year old. I recall many times the temperature reached over 95 in multiple places but never 100.
