Hottest: around 105+ F, in Conway, Arkansas, Phoenix, AZ, Fort Worth, TX, Valdosta, GA, and Lexington, KY (over many different years).

Coldest: -22F, in Lexington, KY.

Hottest: Sacramento, CA. Roughly 112˚F
Coldest: Minneapolis, MN. It got below zero a good number of times every winter but one night in particular got down to near -40˚F with windchill.

It was either the last year I was in Minneapolis, or the year before it, when the daily high did not break 40˚F for 160 days straight.

Hottest was Las Vegas when it was in the 110's this June.
Coldest was while living here in Connecticut during the winter when it hovers around 0 degrees.
