Both have great winters but rather lousy summers. But I thought Binghamton was cloudier in summer, thought it had a reputation for excessive cloudiness. Maybe only in winter.
I choose Binghamton for the warmer summers and for being wetter overall.
Binghamton for the summer, although it is still spring-like in July. Nightmarish places in the winter but at least New York has real warmth for a while.
Binghampton is too continental and it's humid in summer.
