Looks like some patchy freezing rain and maybe some flurries across Central NJ and a little bit east of the city as well.

This is my area's warning (special statement):

Thanks.

Here's what latest Euro shows for the potential front end snow event this weekend. Even the warmer model showing a snowstorm for central NY and into Vermont

Looking at this 5 day rain total map you can see how the atmospheric flow is ....

Then looking at this 48hr future radar loop, you can see it better.. Instead of the Polar Jet stream being as strong as it was last month, now as that moisture comes up, its not snow for South, Ohio Valley, Mid Atlantic.

^^

Are you seeing a dry pattern shape up in the Central and Northern Plains this year?

Highs between 7-11C today in the metro area. Tomorrow 12-17C. We probably would be 20C tomorrow if not for the snow cover, which will be gone by Wednesday

If the snowpack melts before the Northeast, I think so. My thinking is a snowless ground = more heat = better chance for High Pressure to get sustained in center of country while the Jet stream stays dipped in the northeast. So maybe the moisture stays low and heads from south to Mid Atlantic. Under the central Ridge, above the SE ridge?

Who knows. I learned future predictions are pointless to read or mention. Its just for fun. Nobody knows, no matter if your looking at a trend or models. Nobody knows the future. Globally or Locally.

NJ Coast still frozen. WOW

There is also the Ridge in the West/GOA which we need to watch closely for the next several month.

Strange how I showed the warm bias NAM model lately and Wednesdays temps. As if I believed it a bit because seems like it has been warmer than some models showed..

NWS forecast has gone up and up since few days ago. First was upper 40s. Then last night showed 50 for Wed. Now shows 52F. Lol.

On that note... Here's the new NAM update for Wed afternoon temps.

Spring has Sprung. Let's see how many times it can Spring now from here on out.
