On the 19th Jan 2019 an extreme heat event swept over Southern Australia with a 49.8c ( 121.6f ) at Eucla, followed by only 26.5c ( 79.7f ) on the 20th.
Meanwhile the south western Victorian site of Port Fairy had 20.5c ( 69f ) on the 19th, 43.4c ( 110f ) on the 20th, then only 15.8c ( 60f ) on the 21st !
Imagine having to dress for this horrible climate....lol !

This thread is about extreme temperature fluctuations. Try 43C one day, 19C the next.

I don't think the temperature below 30C is still considered a HIGH temperature. Although it is not that extreme, but it is still considered very cool in the depth of the summer. If the average high is in the mid 30s.

Well, in many areas of Australia that get extreme temperature fluctuations, 27C-29C is the average high temp. It's still warm and even uncomfortable, if you're counting a muggy day. You must be from a place like Mecca if you think 27C cool for summer, really.

You must be from a place like Sydney or Melbourne, the average high surpass 30C mark in Brisbane and North Queensland. A high of 23-25C is considered to be the record low in January in Brisbane, and 27C is well below seasonal, usually it is considered to be the lowest daytime high in normal summers. Heading further inland like Ipswich, Gatton, a high of 27C may be the record low temperature in summer, though nights are cooler than coastal areas.
