Average annual temperature is almost the same for three, and annual range is close with some quirks. First one is local (for me at least). It's slightly milder than inland, especially with warmer nights in the cooler months. Sunniest of the three (though subtract maybe 200 hours due to a different measuring system and little seasonal variation in precipitation amount. Hottest summers, and maybe the most humid by a small margin. Winters are rather variable.
Aomori in Japan. Very frequent precipitation in the cooler months. An enormous amount of snow, despite similar winter temperatures to Boston. Cloudiest of the three.
chisinau, Moldova is further north than the other two. Winter afternoon temperatures are a bit chillier. Driest of the three.
Aomori has plenty of snow but is definitely too cloudy for my tastes.
so that's a tie between Boston and Chisinau
Both cities have similar winter averages. Chisinau is cloudier. However they have more snow days. Boston is colder but dryer in winter, so the impression of cold should not be as strong. And I guess they receive a strong snow pack when they get a cold wave. So less frequent snow, but heavier and with more sun in between, whereas Chisinau verges on a warmer version of ukrainian continental climates.
I'd probably pick Boston for the added sunshine, but both Boston and Chisinau are B+ / A- climates in my book.
Aomori has lots of snow, but is too cloudy for a place at 41° latitude.
Boston is too mild in winter on average and its winter too unstable (looking at those 20°C+ record highs), also the summer season looks best to me in Chisinau, Boston is too humid and too warm at night, Aomori even more so.
Boston for sure - good temperatures, good sunshine, and well distributed precipitation. Aomori is too cloudy year round and way too snowy in the winter, and Chisinau is too cloudy in the winter.
Probably Boston because it is the sunniest and has perfect summers.
