Hitting mid 90s today. For Seattle and Puget Sound records are falling like dominos, We have had next to no rain going on 8 weeks now when we usually have substantial rain from March to July.
I was in Shelton Wa a week or so ago and there was no snow on the Olympic mountains where the normally is this time of year. Deep in the interior there is significantly less and it's the same with the Cascades. Not a lot of snow in the mountains anywhere. We get our water from these mountains. Our salmon cannot live in low water so if this gets real bad we'll lose a lot of those too.
Fire danger is high. In Wanatchee they lost some factories and a lot of homes on the edge of the city.
I feel bad for anyone who's plans may be spoiled today, but I'm certainly not complaining about this weather. Sadly we're back to reality tomorrow with highs well into the 80s.
