The hazy hot and humid season has already started in the greater Washington DC area. For the next four months the sky will be a milky white even if there are no clouds. The hazy skies are a result of pollution and a general smoky sky caused by stagnant air. It also causes things in the distance to be seen in a blueish haze. I am tired of it already.

Is there any large Cities with dark blue skies in the summer? What City has the darkest blue skies and great visibility?

Your question right away reminded me of the old TV series "Here Come the Brides."

Anybody old enough to remember that show and its theme song?

Trouble is, that city hardly ever sees any blue skies so how would have they known!

Whether that city has the bluest skies or not is a good question but it's my hometown!

In general, the sky in Denver is blue, however it gets hazy in the summer as well. Usually a summer day starts out blue, clouds up, then clears again, oftern w/o rain or maybe with a little sprinkle.

The sky in St. Louis is pretty blue, however it does rain a lot here. Florida probably has blue skies...they don't call it the Sunshine State for nothing hehe

I've traveled so much these last months that I can't recall where it was that I saw a true aqua sky--one of the greenest blues you can imagine--and as I continued to look at the sky rather than the road, it slowly turned to cerelean blue. An amazing blue!

Perhaps the location will come back to me.

I totally disagree with San Francisco. It is often overcast, and mornings are plagued with fog. I would also disagree with Montana. It is also quite often overcast, and the sky is no bigger than anywhere else -- no idea where it got the silly nickname from (I also think it is one of the worst states in The U.S.). I guess I would nominate San Diego for having the bluest sky. It would be L.A., but the smog really detracts from the blue sky.
