That isn't a bad climate, just too dry for my liking. Almost a desert. Again, the variety in the Seattle area far exceeds anything in the UK. Three hours from London is still basically the same climate as London.

What does 300 days of sunshine mean? - 300 days x 12 hours of sunshine, or 300 days that recorded sunshine?

from May to September Kennewick gets 27-28 completely sunny (100% sunshine) days a month. It only has 3 "gloomier" months - December, January and February with "only" 12-15 clear days per month.

Do you have any sunshine stats for there, or somewhere nearby?

Walla Walla isn't too far away. Not particularly sunny.

Walla Walla has 108 rainy days (20 inches) and Kennewick only gets 72 (7.8 inches). There is no other place in Washington that has the climate of Tri-Cities

Wiki stats have the Tri- cities at 225 sunny days, which is about 2700 hours.

yes maybe the last few years have been sunnier because if you look at the official stats for Pasco, you will see many months from March to November that got 27-28 clear days and only 0-4 gloomy.

They would have to drive over 1000 miles to Southern Spain.
