Yes. Some of the replies above simply muddy the issue, but the bald reality is that Seattle is sunnier than London. None of the naysayers above can produce any evidence to contradict this - they just want to spew irrelevant verbiage.
They're cogent arguments, and it's a truism that there are definable problems in interpreting empirical data recorded within specific parameters. I may not agree with some of their conclusions, but if you have no mature, formal rebuttal to what they say, I suggest you spare this kind of childishness for elsewhere.
What I've heard from native Londoners is that a lot of this disagreement over London's climate is due to changing weather patterns over the past decade.
It would be interesting to see if there are reliable statistics to back that up, though one could put a case in point: London's underground doesn't have air conditioning and it was assumed at some point in the recent past that it would not be needed. Very different now with the Tube getting sauna hot during sunnier months.
If say my anecdotal reports are based on the past few years, and people are citing data sets from the previous century then it could explain some of the discrepancies.
Seattle has more sunshine due to it's summers, where it is often sunny all day long. London's typical summer day is partly cloudy, though London records fewer overcast days than Seattle does as well.
What if Bill Gates was going to give you $300.000.000 if you lived in one or the other?
What would you choose then?
I would probably pick London since it's a much bigger, much more international city. By the way I'm sure both of these cities are good cities I just don't like a lot of their weather but I would have to go with London.
Since climate is so similar, we have to go with the other benefits. Seattle has more gorgeous natural scenery, and London has more beautiful architecture. Depends on your subjective opinions.
