Yes, go 10 to 15 miles east or west and a lot of the land is 1000 feet and up. They get a lot more snow.
You know that's where I'd live in MA...lol.
Mt Rainier - I remember seeing that from the Space Needle when I was there (when I was 15, so long ago ) I couldn't get over the fact that I was looking up at a mountain rising nearly 3 miles from sea level.
Today in another very warm and sunny day at Ioannina. I really love springs in this city. There are flowers and trees almost everywhere and there is a beautiful smell when you go out. It is a great season and in terms of temperatures, sun and precipitation. Not many frosts except some days in March, not cold it is just cool or warm, not hot, not dry and has balanced sunshine. Spring and autumn are the best seasons in this city because of the landscape and weather. In spring it has many flowers, sun and sudden thunderstorms, in autumn many leaves down to the ground and grey skies with rain and mist.

"April into early May is such a transitional period - and while we notice it incrementally in the trees and plants - perhaps the best way to display the eruption of green growth this time of year is via high-resolution low-orbit satellite imagery. Check out the difference from just 35 days ago as seen from many hundreds of miles above the Earth's surface!"
It still looked like winter 3 weeks ago. No color edit from April 14th although was with my cell phone I believe.
As usual...Quick to Green up here. More so past 1 week than past 3 weeks. Had we had below normal or even normal temps we would still have a lot of bare trees around. But we been well above normal for 7 days now and still another 5 coming.
Look what I came across... Figures when I don't bring my camera with me on the morning hike. lol
Cool! Know what kind it is? I'm not too knowledgable about snakes but find them fascinating.
