While it's 12°C in SE England, it also happens to be 21°C in numerous locations across Iceland currently. Now I know where our summer went.

Forecast to have a bone-chilling 73 F / 23 C high today and then a low of 49 F / 9 C. Usually the last sub-50 F / 10 C low is in May, 1981-2010 average is May 28.

Last time it was in June was June 2, 2012. Last time it was after June 14 was on June 22, 1992. It was July 2 in 1988!

2018 had both the earliest last sub-50 in spring and latest last sub-50 in fall; May 1 and October 11. Average (period of record) is May 28 and September 16. It's been sub-50 as late as July 23 (1947) and as early as August 4 (1912).

The record goes back to 1894, there is a dubious April 9 in 1896. Even if it's true, the oldest living person in the world was born in 1903, so as far as the living are concerned May 1 is the earliest last sub-50 reading.

Reached at least 20.2°C at Stafholtsey, Iceland in the last hour. I don't even know what such heat feels like, living in Northern England.

NYC max temp for June, trend is down since 1950s. They haven't hit 96° in June in over 2 decades.

Lots of 95°-100°s in June from 1930-1965.

Currently is 83° (doubt will hold but an interesting trend)

Here is their forecast to the 24th.
