February in Estonia:

Average temperature: -0,1°C
Highest temperature: 9,8°C
Lowest temperature: -17,8°C

Precipitation: 27 mm

Sunshine: 62 h

February: about 6-7°C above average with a pathetic record low. I refuse to accept the new 1980-2010 averages that are 3°C warmer than 1960-1990 ones. I refuse to accept this climate is now German. I am no longer surprised though, as of now 20 of the last 23 months have been warmer (mostly much warmer) than average. It's bound to leave a mark.

Winter: one of the worst I remember. 2007/08 was probably worse. 2013/14 at least included three weeks of frigid temperatures. Weather has been drizzle with near freezing temperatures and constant darkness for the last four months, part of the reason I haven't been posting much. I've become desensitized to it. It no longer qualifies as weather.

On a positive note, spring will likely be warmer than average as well and that's the only dry season we have. Great times if this keeps up.

This was the 4th coldest February on record for our area, and the coldest month in over 25 years. We set some daily record lows and record low highs in late February. We were even colder than Goteborg!

After failing to see accumulating snow during the first 2.5 months of winter, we saw over 6" of snow from 4 separate events, and had continuous snow patches for two weeks! Thus, we wound up hitting our climatological average snowfall after all. Houwever, It's hard for me to call it a good winter, because it was painful to watch for the first 80% of it.

Interestingly enough, today is only the second day out of 17 that they've had school. Despite the fact that we've had snowier winters, I cannot remember a winter with this many snow days. I think that's because no snow fell during the weekend, and it was so cold that there was little melting.

Summer in the Northern Hemisphere → Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
But it would depend on where in Peru you are going to.
We have hot, warm, cool and cold climates (no matter the season )

Actually I was from the country located right to the east of you, and I have to say this February easily matched up with the worst the big bad Russia had to offer. Maybe temperatures in Moscow were a bit lower, but at least we didn't have these damn winds

February 2015 was the 6th driest on record in Alexandria, LA since 1892 with 1.39 inches.

Winter 2014-15 was the 5th driest on record with 7.49 inches. (2nd winter in a row to be among the top 10 driest)

February in Bingley: temperatures close to average, sunshine a little above, rainfall a bit below. No particularly interesting weather events.

The winter as a whole hasn't been remarkable for temperatures or precipitation, but a total of 44 cm of snow with snow cover on 24 days (as of 3 March) is pretty good going.

As for England as a whole, December and January were extremely sunny - with 18 more sun hours than any other Dec-Jan combination ever recorded - and February did just enough to make this the sunniest winter on record. Four of the top five and eight of the top 11 sunniest winters have been from this century. I'll have to wait until mid-month to get the sunshine total for Bradford to see if we had our sunniest winter ever as well, but either way it will be very close.

February 2015 departs leaving a legacy of all-time record-tying cold and a lot of snow

by STEVE KAHN Today at 12AM

February, 2015 is over and has earned a prominent place in Chicago weather history.

Its average temperature of 14.6 degrees ties February 1875 as the city’s coldest February dating back to the start of the city’s weather records in late 1870. Buoyed by the 19.3 inch Super Bowl blizzard, the bulk of which fell on February 1, the month closed with 26.8 inches of snow the third heaviest for February, topped only by the 29.0 inches in 2011 and 27.8 inches in 1896.

It was the second snowiest February on record at Midway Airport. Observer Frank Wachowski reports 28.3 inches of snow there, second only to 2011’s 28.8 inches by one half-inch. Due to Midway’s more urban location in the city’s heat island, the month was considerably warmer logging an average temperature of 18.2, that sites 4th coldest February. The three colder Februarys at Midway were 1936 with 13.6 degrees, 1979 with 16.7 degrees and 1978 with 16.8 degrees.

Man that February of 1936 with a Mean of 13.6F (at a station in the middle of the UHI) must have been brutal!

Anyways, this was a DYNAMITE winter month.

Corvallis, Oregon. Official NWS numbers from Hyslop Field:

Average Max - 56.8 (13.8) or 5.7 (3.2) above 30 year mean
Average Min - 40.3 (4.6) or 5 (2.8) above 30 year mean.
This worked out to 48.51 (9.17) making it three tenths of a degree warmer than the next warmest February since Corvallis stuck in a thermometer in 1889. In fact this past February was warmer than all but 24 March's in the last 126 years. An outlier if ever there was one. It will be years, likely decades before we get another as warm and I am considering the global warming signal we have been seeing throughout.
The entire winter was mild, not record breaking but the warmest since 1934 with a Dec - Feb average of 46.3 (7.94) or 5.4 (3) above long term.

Unlike Central and Southern California we've been wet. Well, sort of with a three month average of 5.57 inches (141.5 mm) as opposed to a long term mean of 6.27 (159.3). We'd be able to manage on that pretty well but for the fact the rain that did fall fell as rain well up into the Cascades. Snow packs are abysmal given how much moisture we got.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center has California virtually certain to continue the warm/dry pattern they need less than we do and for we Oregonians, some relief later on this March.

If we don't get the rain the CPC thinks we will get, things could get very interesting come September...
