Hope this isn't a stupid question, but the tornado go right by your street, or did you get a glancing blow with some winds on the edge? Or just severe thunderstorm winds?
I'm not sure if it was a glancing blow, or just straight line winds from the thunderstorm. I'm going to pay attention to the NWS survey of my area and let you know
It's only 10 AM and it's already 88 F with a 96 F heat index right now. Temperature never dropped below 81 F last night.
When was the last time you had a decent rain? Seems like it's a bit early to be getting those 80+ degree lows too. Looks like both of us are having rough summers. It's quite frustrating to look at the calendar and see that it's only the 23rd of June.
Wanna go on a scouting trip with me to Syracuse later in the summer?

If you drive around, you should see an obvious damage path if and where a tornado hit your area. If you see just general damage, I would say it's probably straight-line winds. If you really felt the house shaking, I would say you had at least 80 mph, if not more.
Now's probably not a bad time to research to see how your homeowner's insurance company does in regard to paying out claims, etc. Some companies are a lot better than others. And make sure you have *full replacement* insurance (in other words, to rebuild your house to current building codes, etc) - this is extremely important if your house ever gets wipes out by a fattie (god forbid.)

That was sudden, dew point went from 60°F at sunrise to 69°F by 10 am. Feels very sticky, not used to it. Morning was very comfortable, bedroom was 71°F when I left. Cloudy all night. Blue sky briefly came out, was very hazy as the humidity built up, now rather dark out. Storms should be exciting this evening.

Today is probably not an ideal day to go for a long bike ride...lol.
Round 1, feel like it's wrong to make it sound impressive, it's not going to be anything like chicagogeorge got:

AT 1046 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING
A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS FROM HOLYOKE TO NEAR WEST SPRINGFIELD
TO NEAR SUFFIELD...AND WAS MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH.

We haven't had a decent rain here since the beginning of the month. FTL has only received 0.88" this month so far while average is 7.70"
MIA month to date so far: 2.10" vs an average of 7.40"
Yeah 80 degree lows are usually more common from about mid-July until early September when the Atlantic is at its warmest....but we've already had several this year. FTL didn't fall below 82 F last night.
And hell yes that sounds good, we should make our way up to Saranac Lake, NY. It's even cooler and nicer up there.
