All I'll say is, I wish I was in southern Ohio today...or Indiana.. or northern West Virginia. 5pm temps

On and off drizzle/light rain all day amounting to around half an inch. Hardly the flooding event they were talking about.

NC looks to be getting some serious storms. Today was a cloudless day, peak temp of 93 F (34 C), peak heat index of 103 F (39 C). My least favorite type of summer day. Forecast for tomorrow:

FridayA 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 104. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon

Where I was we just got some rain and a little thunder. It dropped the temperature from the mid 90s into the 70s, though. I don't experience 70s much in summer because I don't usually get up early enough.

Whoa. I experienced my first 28C/82F+ un-ACed low. Looks like the weather is going on full Malta mode. Already 34C/93F in Cannes at 10 am. Let's see if the temp eventually rises in Nice too.

Going for a run in a few mins. Let's see if it kills me.

Let us know if it does indeed kill you. Failing that, RIP.

Obviously it hasn't. Come to think of it, there are more straightforward ways to kill oneself. Thank you for your concern though.

But we don't have the full package here. Highs are barely above 30C and dews nowhere near yours. Might be acclimatisation, but I always sleep like a baby in Nice. I find 20C+ nights in Paris tougher to sleep through since they are few and far between and usually follow hot days.
