Nope, fog didn't lift, I just left the cloud. Cloud top elevation appears to be around 900 feet, along the length of the valley as far as I can see. Needs more heat can vertical mixing to break, should break within the hour. Blue sky over everywhere. Deep blue but a bit of haze on the horizon
Only 79°F at noon, I thought it was going to be an especially hot day. There was still valley fog at 10:30 AM!
Funny you should mention fog - that's one thing that's been very much lacking here this year. Even during hot months, we might get a few days where it starts off foggy/low cloud but clears up by mid-morning, but this year we haven't had any of that. Don't even remember the last time we had fog.
The grass is yellow in spots around here. The front yard is still green somehow even though it hasn't been watered.
I've hardly had any rain over the first half of August with high temps averaging in the upper 90s. Thankfully this coming week has good tstorm chances everyday and lower temperatures.

We get fog most often late summer / early fall (like now), not as frequent in the winter I think but I remember getting some last December. Tomorrow is forecast to be the hottest day of the year (doesn't mean it will be, but should be close) but it should start in the early morning foggy.
'Tis the season for valley fog!
