Best way to show it is with this... Making another point of mine all these years... Using 1 location to see precip stats for the general area is a nightmare.

I got 3.05" of rain while Bridgeport only 0.94".
White Plains, NY also 3"+ while Danbury only 1.3". Not far at all and I am sure you can find other short distance spots with similar situations... It's all about where the heavy stuff sets up.

So look at this estimated rainfall total per radar and realize it. See the Panhandle of CT? Matches my amount of 3"+, greens not far away which is under 1.50"

You can see why nei didn't get much rain, in fact just west of him less than half inch . They didn't experience the heavy rains and flooding some got in CT and NY and NJ.

It's all about where the heaviest is and unfortunetly we don't have enough official climo sites to catch this for the longer periods of stats. I had a normal rainfall month, Bridgeport 6th driest, Hartford 5th driest.

Thanks for the graphic. Hopefully today will be better. We're getting rain, but not particularly heavy.

No rain at all yesterday, so ISP finished with 0.42" for the month of May, April was dry as well with 1.66".

The grass is now hay:

Some more chances coming up next 14 days as well. June might be a wet one. We'll see.

BTW... Providence... 1/2" of rain May 1-30 Driest on record. May 31st 3.18" fell, now May ends up 34th wettest on record. lol

NYC .. Less than half inch May 1-30 4th driest since late 1800s. May 31st 1.46" fell and so May didn't even end up Top 20 driest (25th)

========================

Current temp departures you can see where the front is now. Finally moved.

11am its in the 80s up to D.C, meanwhile I had the heat on in the car with 50s here and in NJ. 16 below normal in Pittsburg right now.

Current Surface.. Worst place for a Canadian High Pressure if you are a warm lover... This was the scene a lot in the winter. That's some cold clockwise air its spinning down

That's not normal at all here. Especially this early in the season. Part of it is from different types of grasses.

Latest Euro looks cool for June. No 80s, no 90s. Staying below mid 70s next 10 days it says. Lots of rain chances too. Dewpoints get back into the 60s Friday & Saturday and again mid next week. This is for DXR (Danbury,CT) but can relate to bigger area.
