True. That's one positive, but I would have loved to seen more rain and wind. Still a letdown, but you're right that the cooler weather is nice.

72 with a dewpoint of 64 feels perfect.

Warmer in Upstate NY than Atlanta. I think that's where NorthStarDelight still is. It sounds like he would have liked the weather in Atlanta today.

Tropical storm conditions are fine, but I wouldn't want to be caught in a hurricane. One of the things I like to say to people who consider relocating to the Savannah area is how protected it is from hurricanes compared to other coastal cities in the south. A few days back when the models were showing a Hurricane David-like track with Erica, I was getting pretty nervous. Thankfully that did not pan out.

I wouldn't mind a Category 1 hurricane, strong enough for a lot of excitement but not that devastating. Cat 2 and up is concerning though.

Looks like this Sept will be starting out as one of the hottest on record. After the first ten days we're going to be 7-8F above average.

No rain in the forecast either. We've only got 37% of normal precip this month. Similar numbers for July.

Anyone else notice the western US ridge rebuilding by days 12-16 on the 12Z GFS today? At least that will make things a bit more interesting for the middle of September if it verifies.

Wintry precipitation in higher elevations?

Much needed rain in these areas. Oregon, Washington, and Northern Idaho are in an 'extreme drought' according to the US Drought Monitor. I imagine similar conditions extend into British Columbia and Alberta.

Here's Kelowna's forecast:
Was in Kelowna today. Was sunny the entire time.

Future radar shows heavy rain moving into coastal BC and Washington tonight, but not sure if it will sustain itself further inland. 60-70% chance of rain in Kelowna tomorrow night and Tuesday.
