I usually start these graphics in November..... Can't believe there's been 2 snowstorms already not even Mid October.

Here's a look at the Top 20 Snowiest NWS Climo locations in the U.S. (Only NWS Climo sites that report snow).

Montana & Dakotas leading the pack. 7 sites in MT & 5 in SD on the list.

Great Falls 27" of snow this season, normal is 2.7" to date.
Bismarck normal is 1/2", they have 16.9".

Oh this is cool! Play it. (Sounds like they are using the annual snow total, not season)

27 inches in Great Falls, wow. I'm wondering if there's any left on the ground?

Looks like Fairbanks, AK has a fine layer of snow on the ground now that is not likely to leave until mid Spring.

.
2 separate snowstorms for them.

Sept 28-29 they got 19 inches. Stayed on ground for 5 days
Oct 8-9 they got 8 inches and stayed on ground until October 13th.

So 13 days with snow on the ground from September 28 to October 13th. No snow on ground now for them but there is in higher elevations. https://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/inde...day=16&units=e
