Tacoma gets Grade A- maybe I'm a bit biased because it's not very far from considered one of my old hometown in Pierce County... I miss their awesome climate
Still remember once we had a nice snowstorm in November 2010.
Very comfortable for most of the year and lacks any real extremes. The summers in the PNW are great, the days are comfortably warm and the mornings and nights are often cool but nothing too extreme in a diurnal sense. You don't have to live in fear of the summers, yay!
What part of Sydney? Most of Sydney's greater western area gets around 850mm of rain (which includes my suburb).
Despite getting 1200mm of rain, Sydney CBD still gets lesser rain days than Seattle and Tacoma. And that's a big factor here. Our rain is usually heavy, which comes briefly in a hot summers day and would then clear to sunshine. Unlike Sydney, these cities receive more rain days, but less heavier rain.
They're only drier in the summer. And that isn't really saying much since they're rather wet 9 months of year.
