Evidently, lots of people on this Subforum are enthralled with extreme climates, with snowy and intense winters, hot and blazing summers. Mild climates are regarded as being "boring". Perhaps the fans of extreme climates don't need to commute much in unplowed snow, or worry about climate-control for large detached houses, or pay for homeowners' insurance against extreme weather. They don't worry about road-salt eating away their cars, or high winds tearing off roof-shingles. They've no had difficulty starting their cars on subzero (Fahrenheit) mornings, or feeling the clutch-pedal depress limply and without effect.
Mild weather/climate might be boring weather, lacking sensational topic for conversation, or newsworthy images to photograph. But it's more livable weather.
My personal preference is a climate sufficiently mild that I could comfortably wear a business-suit year-round outdoors, without sweating in the summer or shivering in the winter. That unfortunately is not possible in most parts of the US.
