deep blue sky this morning and chilly in the low 40s at 7:30. Last evening at 9 pm it was around 60°F with high relative humidity. Rather drastic change; shut the windows in the middle of the night, didn't expect this drastic of a change.

I finally see 30s in the forecast, both for Geneva and for Islip. About Time.

October is transition month for much of Central and Northern Asia, when the Siberian High finally starts to strengthen.

To get an idea, look at some of the forecast high temperatures for today, and then for the end of the week:

-for Kyzyl: mid 60s now, upper 30s end of week
-for Ulan Bator: upper 50s now, upper 30s end of week
-for Irkutsk: low 60s now, low 40s end of week
-for Novosibirsk: low 60s now, low 30s end of week
-for Norilsk: Upper 20s now, low teens end of week
-for Verkhoyansk: upper 20s now, low teens end of week
-for Oymyakon: mid 30s now, upper single digits end of week
