Looks like I'm going to get some type of weird backdoor front early next week. Highs are forecast to be 6-8F below average with 30Mph winds from the NE and dew points in the mid-60's. Showers are in the forecast but no thunderstorms...looks interesting
Cambium, did the buffalo snow pile ever completely melt? Seems that they will be getting their first snow of the 2015-2016 season this weekend so it'd be pretty cool if it made it!
Westhampton is an impressive micro-climate; it sometimes gets nights as cold as here or even colder yet it's a few miles from the coast and on an island
Coastal Norway ones look mild for October. Or is that normal? Rather big inland-coast difference, I assume made higher by mountains. What's with the -2.8°C in that island off the Norwegian coast? That can't be right.
That low of 9°C north of the Arctic Circle is impressive.

Rather mild yes, but nothing spectacular. The North Atlantic is still quite warm. Interior Norway is indeed very mountanious. The -2.8C is a glitch. There isn't even any island there.
Very unusual diurnal range here so far this month. October has usually very stable temps, but so far our average high is 51F and low 32F. For comparison last October had a 50F high and a 40F low. Also not a single drop of rain so far this month.
