First 20's of the season, back into the 30's now though. I hate this crap.

Ooh. Looks like you're finally getting a decent morning after an overall crappy November. Nice!

Lowest temp I've felt this season is 25F/-4C yesterday morning. Lowest temp in all of Switzerland this season is -23C/-10F, up on Jungfraujoch (also yesterday).

First freeze of the season this morning.

A little later than usual, but still glad it happened before December.

Feels nice. Wonder if we have to wait another month to get these temps again. Kinda still crazy to think we got this mid October and had to wait to now to get again.

I assume that -10F is in northern Switzerland...or maybe higher elevations further south? Interesting I have a lower low than you so far.

=====================

Can we say weeeeeeeee?

We're going from below normal, to well above normal in 3 days. What else is new lately. Warm Friday coming in Eastern U.S especially Northeast looks like 15 above normal? 60s!

There is no normal! Only a long term average. Weather is almost never normal in fall or winter.

Amazing how you have a freeze before Philadelphia. Though almost all of our area has now gone to 32F or below, our airport has yet to go below 34F. No freeze in the city either.

This is very late for us. Our avg first 32F reading at the airport is around the 2nd week of November.

Or spring.

Sometimes summer can be normal.

But not late fall.

You mean "long term average", not normal.

(goes off muttering about words and meanings)

I think it's the summit of a mountain up at 11000 feet. Closer to the south. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungfraujoch

What else could "normal" mean in the context of weather?

I guess you are right, but for some reason it's starting to bother me.

Normal can be misleading at times. Some year have warm winters, others have cold, averaging them out makes every year "abnormal", so all weather can be described as "not normal".
