No frost next 10 days!

Here's Chicago. Could this be the theme for winter? Chicago above normal and Northeast with Polar breaks?
maybe... 80 degrees was the high at both Chicago airports today. My suburb reached 81F

However... GFS nudging PV towards North America 360 hours out

Areas of high precip in the Gulf and off the S Atlantic coast in 7 day forecast.

The meteorologist on local news was saying that some models hint at a weak tropical system in Gulf next week.

That 6.8" needs to shift about 400-500 miles to the east. 2-2.5" isn't bad for 7 days though....

Arrived in Portland, Maine, tonight! Currently, clear and 58F with dew point 48F. Forecast for today in Portland was 71F and Low 54F. Noticed in Albany, Oregon (our hometown and state), they are currently at 69.6F with dew point of 32F. Their high today was suppose to be 73F and low 51F. Seems like the is only a few degrees difference - but humidity is higher here. That's ok - I can deal with the humidity.

Sure looking forward to cooler temperatures and some moisture (preferably in the form of snow)! Looks like I may have to wait until October to experience this?

Hey RAlex! Does this mean in Maine we could experience a half an inch of precipitation?

October snow is possible in Portland, but I would say to get some good snow you would have to wait until at least mid November or so. To get lasting snow cover I would guess about early-mid December.

It looks like the precip in Maine is mostly in the 6-7 day range, so I'd say it's less predictable that far out.
