Why do you think it's crap? It's here and I'm seeing the effects of climate change year by year. It's gotten hotter and drier here for the past 20 years, and it's gonna get a whole lot worse. I'm absolutely mortified at not being able to move north in time, too.
Time to take those blinders off and see what's really happening...
Some of the scenarios for the year 2100 are truly horrific for here - like average highs in July over 40 C and desertification of the landscape, which we're already beginning to see.
I know I need to move - let's hope this climate change thing doesn't proceed any more rapidly than it is already. (Bites nails down to the quick, as we close in on 3 weeks of zero rain.)
I think Atlanta will be more humid in the future if the climate became warmer and global warming doesn't really exist in USA because if you look the summer average, you will see that they are stable.
In 3 decades Chicago summers will be like Memphis? And in 7 decades like East Texas? Sure....
Well, let's say that I *hope* it's crap. It's my fear that it won't be, though. I've been irrevocably scarred by the Florida fires of 1998 and the heat wave / drought of 2007 (and more recent as well), I suppose.
That's why I hope and pray for a series of long-running volcanic eruptions that drop the global temps by 5 C so I won't have to live out the rest of my life in mortal fear of runaway global warming.
Of the 18 record warmest years in Helsinki Centre, 8 have been during the 2000's. Of the five warmest summers, three have been during the 2000's (and one in 1997). 2 of the warmest springs, autumns and winters. Records go back to 1900.
I think it's quite a clear trend and not only a fluke.
I'm not a global warming denialist. The earth is warming. I'm a climate model sceptic. I find it very difficult to believe these scenarios in the time frame they give....

I'll give you that - models are just that - just models of a possible future, and chances are they'll be far off the mark - just like the ones that forecast a wet summer when we end up getting a bone-dry one.
I just wish I could live in a place that's cool and wet and promises to get even cooler and wetter over time...lol.
