shoulder seasons killed it for me. Too cool. Summers are also way too weak. If I would only rate Chicago a C/C- then I would give Eau Claire an F Not exactly sure what an E means, is that better than an F? If so, maybe an E given their strong winters. Wisconsin def. has better climate spots imho...

C+: Winters are pretty good. The summer is decent enough but the shoulder seasons could be better.

Like Ottawa/Montreal but with slightly warmer summers.

I agree chicagogeorge rated ita bit too. harsh....it's at least a D.

He likes climates with similiar winters but hotter summers,
imo low 80s summer highs are not too bad.

Maybe I did rate it a little to harsh, but like I said, what really failed them was their shoulder seasons. Way too cool. And yes, their summers are rather weak. Madison, and La Crosse are better imo.

A solid B- climate. Winter is perfect, summer minima as well, but is less snowy than I would like, has too few precipitations and more than the rest as usual with US climates it is probably too sunny.

D+. Not warm enough throughout the year. Summers look like April or early May in Louisiana, except for the record highs.

A taste of early autumn weather this week in Eau Claire, WI. Where is Summer in the Midwest this year?

I'd give it a C.

Winters look exciting but I really don't need them to be that cold, I'd be happy if they were like 4 to 5c warmer, like -1/-10c in january, that would already be amazing. Which leads to the problem Chicagogeorge pointed out, cooler-than-ideal shoulder seasons. There's still chance for full winter weather in April, no thanks. Summers are ok for me, as I don't need tropical weather for 80 days straight (it's already too hot for too long where I live, I prefer more variety). Maybe 17/29c would be better.

I'm sure they have very good sunshine stats, like 2,500 hours maybe ?
