Here is a map of the U.S. showing the number of days per year when 60F≤max temp<80F. I'd imagine the 60F-80F range could be considered the most comfortable, at least for outdoor activities. The country is amazingly consistent. Most cities have between 100 to 149 days per year. There are a couple exceptions. For comfortable weather lovers, the best place is coastal Southern California and the worst places are Hawaii, Southern Florida, Alaska, and the northern inland West.

This is really good! Although, I differ with the definition. I'd put the comfortable range as mid 60s to mid 80s. Especially the 68-79 range. This definition would knock Astoria right out. As someone who goes to the Oregon coast frequently, I can tell you that most of those days are completely cloudy, extremely windy, and they barely top out at 61 or so. So, if that's your idea of comfortable, then Astoria is great...

Not quite Californian mild though as summer highs are over 80F
but 85F highs with low humidity do not feel hot and most of the
day is below 80F due to big diurnal range.
Interesting how much of the county is in the same range. As I suspected, you don't gain much by moving south; you just trade cold for heat. A few Appalachian and coastal spots in the south stand for moderation.
Awesome graphic. I'd rather be warm than cold, so Florida is good for me. Also number of sunny days per year makes a big difference to me. San Diego has the most comfortable climate of any place I've ever been.
Looks pretty comfortable to me. Hilo looks comfortable too although most of their highs are just above 80F.
