Southern California just had its first 'reverse' spring in nearly 100 years | 89.3 KPCC

Another unique angle to the bizarre weather year we've been having. March warmer than April and April warmer than May. I think its supposed to go in the opposite direction.

March average temperature: 68 degrees F (20 C)

April average temperature: 65 degrees F (18 C)

May average temperature: 64 degrees F (17 C)

Reminds me of England's spring and summer this year. 1st of June colder than 1st January and May colder than April (where I live). Summer will probably be colder than winter next.

Yes; The first week of June and highs only in the low 70s even inland and some 60s at the coast while March had widespread highs in the 80s and 90s for long stretches. The average high in May (70.5 F) was even cooler than the average high in January (72.7 F) in downtown L.A this year!

On another interesting note; here's my local forecast: can you believe that we have a shot at getting some thunder on Friday? It never rains or thunders here in June. June is way too late for our winter and spring rains and too early for the monsoon t-storms that can occasionally (but still very rarely) make their way into the valleys or coast from the deserts in August or September.

Do you think the thunderstorms will actually happen?
