MJO. We are in Phase 4.. green line is the projection.. We are going into Phase 5 then 6 next 2 weeks..

You can see 4, 5 & 6 is warm.. then 7 things change... But if we go into the circle (Kiss of Death) we can come back around to Phase 4 again which would mean Ba Bye January.

Yeah, looking better on Weather Underground too. Just keep coming down please.

So, is the rest of winter a wash out? Could the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic possibly receive NO snow? Weather channel posted NOVA forecast for the rest of this winter and it showed whole Northeast and East Coast in deep blowtorch fashion. I am another cold lover and am brokenhearted over this snowless bust of a winter. Just very glad I'm not longer living in Southeast Fla, I'd be pulling my hair out!!!

At my apartment it ended up snowing for maybe an hour or so, fairly heavily at times, enough for a decent coat of white on the ground. After that it just sort of dissipated and turned into rain. As far as I heard there was little to no snow downtown.

Still, not bad for the first snowfall in over a year.

Is it going to be cold in Kentucky today?

Well here's something we haven't seen in a while....or much of.

Ridge in West, digging trough in East with the 850mb freezing line down to Gulf states this morning and a nice size -10C air mass.

One might look at this and scream TYPICAL FOR THE COAST to be on the warm side of things.. but ..

Current

All that air is pushing East, so by tomorrow afternoon the -10C airmass aloft will be over Philly and even the Atlantic. That should cool down some of the SST's there.

Saturday

But it's all gone by Monday as the warm air comes back in.

And then Christmas Eve... +12C over Nova Scotia and Maine?! Nuts to see that far north. Insane Atlantic Ridge there. Gees

Question is.. will it be over 2 weeks before we see another digging trough to Gulf states like this weekend?

Burst of late Friday snow and a seasonable Saturday chill to be followed by windy Sunday warm-up; mild pattern next week to crush

This may not become the warmest December on record here, but it will be damn close.

Here is where I'm at so far.... Jeez I had a high of 64F/18C and a low of 57F/14C last week. This is December right?
