Mobile seems to have spells of ridiculously humid weather outside of summer. How the entire day stay at 100% RH when it's in the mid-70s!? Even while it's not raining. This type of thing I have only seen on cold misty/foggy days, at those temperatures it's bizarre.

Weather History for Mobile, AL | Weather Underground
The level of humidity Mobile saw this past December must have been extremely rare.

I was looking at December records going back to 2000 for Mobile, and I only saw one other day where the dewpoint didn't go below 70F, which was Dec 5, 2013. In 2003, the DP never got above 64F.

New York City reached a dewpoint of 64°F on Christmas Eve, which is very high for winter.

Saw some frost heaving today, ground feels rock solid in some spots, stark contrast from two days ago.

That's nice for a humid winter day, but mid 70s all day is nuts!

Actually, looks slightly above average for me. I wonder if many of the coming cold blasts might miss me? El Niño is supposed to mean cooler south and warmer north, and the cold blasts appear more interior aimed. Canada definitely looks above average.

There's a tool I haven't needed to use yet . I miss looking at some stuff. I'm gonna be rusty for when it finally snows again. lol

Easy to use. Click on station with map. Click on "TOTAL SNO" button at top. Make sure its current run. See all members what they say for projected snowfall. NCEP SREF Plume Viewer

It's January. Now I'm sure you know what "normal" is in Canada... Here are the temps for that same time frame you and Tom used.

I don't know why that guy was using hour 360 (last frame available) but maybe it supports his thinking on what could happen.

Above normal in Canada means cold still.. And if we get a Northwest flow into us, even if moderates, it will still be cold for us. Add a snowpack in Quebec which I saw GFS suggest then it will get cold.

This morning again in the teens here. 3 days in a row and that's just the first real Arctic blast of the season.. Lets see if next weeks will give same results
