This is crazy. Last night's minimum in Warsaw was 8°C !

It's a Tmin that's not uncommon in... July !

Not to speak of the previous record-high minimum temp of the day... it is smashed - by 4 degrees !!

I'm calling this winter "The Winter of Timing".

Was debating on calling it the Winter of GLCs but I think the timing thing is good for the East.

GFS6z shows what's been pretty much the case (except for the Blizzard when timing was right)

Just like nei said.... It's cold without storms/moisture and when there's moisture it's too warm.

Southern Stream just too strong and just bad timing with everything.

Of course it's long range but not surprising to see...or believe.

So GFS continues to say we go into the freezer after the 4th but then a storm moves in and we warm up, as soon as it leaves back into the freezer.

I would prefer the PV visiting us instead of Europe this February

Though I'm not so sure about the polar vortex not effecting Europe as well.. What does this look like to you? Personally I think if the PV splits Europe will get cold too.

The local TV meteorologists are privately thinking we're getting a foot of snow or more in Kansas City during this next storm (Feb 2-3). They're not putting it on the air because viewers accuse them of being alarmist, but they're convinced this storm will shift farther south and put K.C. on target. We don't get gentle snowfall here either. Pretty much all snowstorms are accompanied by high wind.

Here's what GFS12z says for a 24hr snowfall total. Monday 12z to Tuesday 12z. It's a bit north more from previous updates.

pivotalweather - GFS - 24-hr Accumulated Snowfall for Tue 2016-02-02 18z=

And here's the Canadian. Much more south with the storm track then the GFS.

Ahhh, who will win, who will lose. There's ALWAYS a border of someone who gets screwed!
