Update on the Vortex location and 850mb temps


Now in Southern Quebec pushing the Jet Stream and trough down.


I am surprised it's not going further south. Very confined and condensed this time.


You can use the -20°C edge for where the Arctic front is. The summits of the Adks temps continue to drop and about to be -30C up there with wicked winds! It's Saturday, I hope hikers were aware of this coming!

Here's how it looked February 19, 2015. Much more digging down with the cold air and the core was focused on the Great Lakes then shifted East. As opposed to this weekend the core is a bit East more and not digging south as much

True. I'm only in the light blue zone, not the purple zone like last year.

forecast put us at 28 at this time, we are at 31. Not bad make me optimistic that we will get at least 2-3 degrees above the forecast and not get as cold tonight.
