What is up with the very low MB low pressure centers by the Aleutians. A sub 940mb low is forecasted by the GFS in the 10-12 day time period. This is ridiculous even for an active zonal pattern with Pacific air. The trend is your friend regarding the lack of cold air and stuck polar vortex. I'll believe the cold air when I seen evidence of it moving southward.

The cold fronts aren't well below normal because that air is still locked up in Northern Canada.

Right now 54 Philly. 42 here. Chilly... they thought 60 today 2 days ago. I doubt it.

Lately I have been changing my winter tastes. My theory about winter in cloudy oceanic climates vs our sunnier winter continental climate is proving true for me. This weather we are having, which would be warm for London or Paris in winter, is just not warm by any stretch. It feels cold even. Last night with temps in the 40'sF it felt even colder.

I just came in from lunch, and again it feels cold. Maybe I still haven't adjusted to our colder regime. Not sure. But the clouds and dampness are a big downer.

And here are the conditions:

Neat billowing clouds here. Only 47F though at 1pm.

Same temp here with annoying drizzle still and lots of fog.

I wonder if you'll have a nice sunset. Actually I see clouds have entered Western KY so maybe it might stay overcast. Get a shot of the back edge if you can. Looks like a gap between clouds from the front and clouds from the ULL in KY there.

Nobody would consider 12/13c 'warm' in the winter here. It would be mild, people would still need to wear winter clothing (you wouldn't see anyone in a tshirt and shorts).

It's not expected to clear up until overnight.

In fact, there are some spotty showers now. Snow in Indiana.

I didn't mean "warm" like summer. I meant warm as in above average. And yes, 56F is above avg for London in winter.
