Is there any place to look up "heat peaks" for any given location? I read that the highest average for Syracuse was yesterday, so it's all downhill for them from today onward. I have a feeling ours is next weekend, but not sure of the exact date.

Definitely the worst day of the summer here. Currently 91 F/33 C with a heat index of 98 F/37 C. Forecast high of 94 F/34 C. Disgusting.
The main floor of my house is still a tolerable 77 F/25 C, but upstairs is probably a few degrees warmer. A/C isn't on yet, but I'll turn it on later. I'm more concerned about the food in the kitchen rotting than my personal comfort lol.
Leaving the window fans on in my room has made it warmer the rest of the house. 83°F inside, 84°F outside.
Save that for nighttime, when it's cooler. I'd only run the fan in the daytime if the indoor temp rises higher than the outdoor temp (blowing out.) When it's cooler outside, reverse the flow - get that cool air in...lol.
I should warm you, accommodations are quite costly there in summer, especially on the ocean. Do you know anybody that lives down that way?
It turned out it was cheaper for my family to visit Myrtle Beach than the Jersey Shore during the summer. I stay at the Caribbean Resort when I go to MB. I have family there too but would prefer to stay in a hotel if financially feasible.
