It's stupid because you can stand outside and take pics.
I was outside taking pics of an office building here in Atlanta, and the guard fussed at me. Of course, I could just go back a half block out of sight and use the zoom and get just as good of a photo.
Imagine that, a US official dictating what a Canadian citizen can do on Canadian soil - I felt supremely embarrassed about my country. They should have at least put signs out front "no photography" - good grief.
Canadian soil over which US officials are allowed to exercise a degree of control. It's the same as an embassy in that way. Though, contrary to popular belief, it is not foreign soil. Still Canadian soil in this case.
Oh come on. South FL is way worse in 2 months you'll have temperatures that are at South FL winter levels lol.
Trust me, that's the ONLY thing that's keeping me halfway sane at the moment. That, and my trip up north in 20 more days. But man, the waiting is just downright tedious.
Couldn't he have walked away? Did he have any authority outside the consulate?
Maybe he was still on their property. Taking photos while on their property may not be protected by the principle of public easement... I don't know.
