[quote=jgtheone;41266292]I know quite a few people doing accounting, it's a very popular course at the moment. I've heard it can get difficult too.
It can in the latter years, but relatively speaking I wouldn't say it's any harder than what you're doing. In terms of commerce courses, it's harder than marketing and management but easier than economics and finance. It's more the tediousness that puts people off!

I always say to accounting students "you can do my taxes" but there are so many lol. Do you have a job now?

Seriously, I've seen your posts on another thread too, you seriously need to go out and talk to some people, locking yourself up in your room will not only mean that you'll have no friends, but you'll also have nothing to do, nobody to talk to, nobody to help you etc. It also looks a bit weird if you've just moved in and are making no effort to come and talk to anybody. We had a girl like that in my first year, we tried with her so much, but she just kept herself locked away in her room. God knows what happened to her, we only saw her about 3 more times that year, she didn't even use the kitchen, it was just weird and so bizarre.

I do, although I won't hesitate to say it took a very long time to find a good one after graduation. That first step is always the hardest, then in any future jobs they don't even take into account uni anymore. Like in many fields at the moment (law springing to mind), there's actually a dearth of experienced candidates, but evidently an over-supply of graduates.
I'm hoping that it all slowly picks up again within about five years. Are you confident of your job prospects following the completion of your degree?

There is so much more to accounting than taxes! lol
