Out of curiosity, when do you think highs below 20°C become common where snj90 lives?
The average high temperature drops to 67F (so it's sub-20C) on October 14th on average at PHL. But due to the UHI, it may be somewhat sooner for my location. (Highs fall to 68F on October 11th @ PHL.)
Prevailing winds come from the northwest, not the ocean.
Not always. If they come from the south (often in the summer) the ocean has an effect. But yes, you can be within a few miles of the ocean and with a NW prevailing wind the ocean influence does almost nothing.
