So with the map above it's saying NYC has more of those cold days than Ketchikan Alaska.

Boston more than Denver.

In fact Kansas City more than Denver.

You get major rain shadowing in the west. For example, Henderson Lake on Vancouver Island averages 23 feet of year per year while Sequim, Washington situated on the coast a mere 75 miles away averages a mere 1 and a half feet per year of precipitation.

Finally some Canadian maps!

Want 80°F all year round? Just follow the road on the map then.

Friggin ridiculous NOAA is, they couldn't just release this map and talk about 1st snowfall dates. They had to throw in Climate Change and Global Warming. So obvious what they are doing to the public. Sickening.

Anyway ...

1st Snowfall Dates. Cool map.

Number of blizzard warnings since Jan 1, 2005

Virginia had a couple.

8 for NYC area & the CT coast. More than Michigan.

12 for MA.

Wow at North Dakota.

Keep in mind, this is over a 10 year period, so you have to divide the number by 10 to get the yearly totals. Still, 36 per year in Anchorage, Alaska is pretty impressive.
