It's been 20 yrs since they had a Top 10 Cold May.
Avg temp was warming from 1950s to early 2000s, but since early 2000s the trend has been dropping and back to 1980s levels.

** More interestingly.... the Max temp has been only 93° this month, that's the 3rd coldest on record there!

It's hard to believe Vegas has only been 10 degrees F warmer than here this May. This is only about 5 degrees Celsius.

Yeah, I keep forgetting how hot they normally are cause I look at their avg temp and I'm like "eh, that's warm, not cold". lol

Also, May has been cooler than April in Las Vegas this year--on average, there's a 10F warmup between the months.

Well the cold wave is almost over. Low 90's in Vegas tomorrow and 100 by next Wednesday.

Phoenix is upper 90's tomorrow. Seasonal for them.

Yeah, our mean was only 3°F below average today (84°F to an average of 87°F), closest we've been to average in two weeks

Temp departures last 2 weeks.

U.S View. A good 6-12 below normal in the southwest

Southwest View

Actual Average Temps. Looks like 50s just outside Vegas? Not many stations out west but you can get the idea here. Wow

Looks like Ely, Nevada Avg Temp in the 30s. (6200')

Vegas sits in a Valley, with the Great Basin to the north, the Spring Mtns to the west, Mtn Pass in California to the SW, and the Hualapai Mtns in AZ to the SE. That's why surrounding temps are all much cooler
