Yeah, twas quite cold today. But as soon as it warms (what i have longed for for 5 months) up I have to go to Pemberton which is a cooler town in the SW of WA. It will still reach 29-30˚C on Friday but is still quite cool at night.

Looks like a mediterranean version of Melbourne.

Exactly, one of the wettest places in WA and similar, only warmer than Melbourne and probably has higher sun hours. I don't mind it though, it can be very nice especially between October-April when there can still be heat.

A lovely 25C day today -the first 25C day since April.

Warmer on the east coast, with several places reaching 29C.

Looks like the gaylord cold front came in much earlier than expected. Adelaides high temp (23C) ended up lower than the forecast low and places not far from Renmark didn't even crack 30C. Yet Renmark itself had a low of 23c and high 37.7C surpassing the forecast.

Directly south closer to the coast around Mt Gambier was only low 20's. Currently at 4pm there and in SW Victoria it's only around 14-15C.

Some high overnight lows in the Vic coast, 24C at Cape Otway and 26C at Wilsons Prom.

Cool start of October here. No signs of spring yet:

01: 20.8ºC
02: 15.9ºC
03: 15.6ºC
04: 17.1ºC
05: 20.4ºC

Now 18ºC at 14pm and likely it will be the max.

Also is snowing in Bariloche and the surrounding area, as well as in Mendoza's andes:

^^^ Nice - I need to start learning Spanish.

i was listening to a fireman on the radio, saying that yesterday they had 29C and sunny at lunchtime, and 6C and rain at lunchtime today. He certainly appreciated the cold change.

South island climates can have unpleasant changes like that at times - east coast and inland ones, that is.

We're still in a string of cool, cloudy days here. 15ºC the max today and this pattern will persist on weekend at least. This situation concern all the center of the country, even producing some rare snowfalls!! in the sierras of Córdoba and San Luis provinces, just above 1000m. Some today's photos:

Durazno (1200m)

Pancanta (1600m)

La Carolina (1600m)

Also, it snowed in Malargue, Mendoza province, where the max only reached 3ºC this afternoon!

This post doesn't look very much like spring, right?

WHOA! Mid Spring Snow. Awesome. Whats ashame is 2 things...

1. The media not picking this up. Or has there been a news article written anywhere about this?
2. How can we prove its "rare"? Are there stations there? Are the locals saying that?

4000' snow here is not too rare for mid April. Not common but not rare..
