For Los Angeles:

Winter: December, January

Spring: February, March, April, May, June

Summer: July, August, September

Fall: October, November.

Basically, temperatures fall rapidly in late October and November each year but climb very gradually from Feb to June. October temperatures are comparable to June and late May.. November is more like May and April.

Toronto

Winter: December, January, February, March

Spring: April, May

Summer: June, July, August, September

Fall: October, November

All bets are off in Toronto as seasons can overlap. For example, this year it was above average for December and into January before it really got into a deep freeze for February and most of March. It also seems that the spring isn't as long anymore. You just run into summer.

Winter: December 1st- March 15

Spring: March 16- May 20 (roughly)

Summer: May 21-October 15

Fall: October 16-November 30

I used summer and winter as the warmest and coolest 25% of the year, roughly. And spring and fall as the time in between.

Autumn - October to March
Spring - April to September

Don't get a winter cus it never snows and temps really fall below 0C (32F) at night, and don't get a summer cus don't a month or months with temps above 25C (77F)... The UK is awful for weather!!!

You're clearly letting this one poor summer cloud your judgement. The UK has distinct seasons - you couldn't mistake July for April no matter how hard you try.
