I changed the climate of Portland as little as possible to turn it into an A climate. Adding about 3 degrees year-round and about 500 sun hours does the trick. It resembles southern France a bit. I would place this climate just south of the 43rd parallel north.

I gave it a B. It's very good. Nice temperatures, and loads of sun at the right time of year. The only thing I'd change are the lows during spring and summer, as they're are a bit too cool.
There may well be a location in inland Southern France that is quite similar to that. Not sure though.
As always with my fictional climates, I try to preserve the realistic nature of them, even if that means that certain aspects of the climate are less ideal. Summer nights on the west coast are notoriously cool. Funny enough, that's not the case in the Mediterranean Sea. I think there are a few inland southern French climates with very similar temperaures, but they tend to be cloudier. Maybe one exists that is this sunny.

This fictional place is pretty close to the real world climate in the town of Myrtle Point, OR located at 43.065080, -124.138641. It is located about 25 miles southeast of Coos Bay, OR so in summer it does not get as hot as the inland valleys like Roseville or Medford. It is also far enough inland to avoid most of the summer overcast fog that hovers over the Oregon coast. Nights are always cool even in summer.
The inland valleys of Oregon seem much hotter in summer than the area I live in (Orange County, CA) about 15 miles inland from the Pacific coast. My area is mild and dry year round, but I would prefer a place with more rainfall and the vegetation and climate of a place like Myrtle Point, OR. It is a great place for people who like to garden and grow their own veggies and fruit!

C for me. No point in having cloudy winters and sunny summers.
